The New York State Office of Information Technology Services has initiated a comprehensive project to develop Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP) for each of its individual divisions and units to ensure Continuity of Government (COG).

The New York State Office of Information Technology Services has selected BOLDplanning.com, a Continuity of Operations Planning system to assist in the creation of its COOP plans and ongoing plan development. BOLDplanning.com is a web-based planning tool, designed to guide government agencies through the process of developing a Continuity of Operations Plan.

The BOLDplanning.com system walks planners through each step of the COOP planning process and helps develop a COOP plan that outlines a clear, concise understanding of roles and responsibilities needed to ensure an agency’s transition during times of change in normal operation.

For this project, the BOLDplanning.com system was modified to meet the specific needs of the agency. It is accessed via the internet at www.NYITSCOOP.com for this agency-wide planning process.

    b. Link all functions to people and resources required to perform them.

5. Supporting Documents
    a. Review, Update, and Replace all outdated material
6. Update TTE/Plan Maintenance section

Add a plan maintenance event to document all review and update actions.

Things to REMEMBER:

When staff retire, leave the agency, or transfer between departments business units must:

Review and Update Contacts database and any of your files in the Contacts Supporting Documents section
Review and Update Global Address List (GAL) with current organization, host agency, department, contact information, and manager. The program link is located on Inside Edge at the top of page next to 511NY or directly from https://ars.svc.ny.gov/ARWebSelfService/default.aspx. Instructions are contained within the application.

Review COOP Teams
Review Orders of Succession for accuracy

(Management, Key Departmental Staff, and COOP Team leaders)
Document all your plan maintenance in the TTE section of your COOP.
